NABA cordially invites you to Music in the Park on July 17, 2014. NABA is working hard to promote your business and would love to see you for this great networking opportunity!  All business owners and managers are welcome to attend the NABA get-together beginning at 5:30 PM. Light appetizers will be served with beverages, and a 50/50 raffle will be available, you must be present to win (drawing at 6:30 PM).  NABA would enjoy highlighting all of the great work being done to promote our area businesses. Music will be provided by The Steenos from 7-8:30 PM.

Niagara Area Business Shop Niagara Winners

Recently, the first quarter winners were presented their prizes for Shop Niagara.

A promotion where customers are able to register everytime they are patronizing one

of the Shop Niagara businesses.  Niagara Area Business Association buys quarterly prizes

and rewards people for shopping Niagara.

All Class Reunion

Niagara Centennial -- The All Class Reunion will be hosted at the school on Friday, June 27th from 3-7 p.m. Food & beverages will be served.

NIAGARA FIREWORKS PIZZA FUND DRIVE GETS UNDERWAY

The popular Niagara Fireworks pizza fundraiser got underway last weekend when sales began during the annual Niagara Lions Nine-Pin Bowling Tournament held at the newly remodeled Uptown Lanes & Lounge.  In the photo, Uptown Lanes & Lounge co-owners Emily and Brock Payette are shown with Ann Dunlap of the Niagara Community Fireworks Committee.  The pizza fundraiser is the fifth annual for the Niagara Community Fireworks Committee which will use the funds raised to finance future fireworks at the Niagara Lions Community Picnics.  Due to the Niagara Centennial being held this year, this will be the only fireworks fundraiser that will be held in 2014 so as not to conflict with Niagara Centennial projects and activities.

Four vendors have agreed to participate and these include:

• Audrey’s Ravioli Shop of Niagara
• Uptown Lanes & Lounge of Niagara
• Jim’s Restaurant of Niagara
• Pizza Oven of Kingsford

 

The cost will again be just $8.00 for each 12-inch homemade pizza for either sausage and cheese or pepperoni and cheese pizzas.  All participating businesses will donate $2.00 back to the Fireworks Committee for each pizza sold.  The goal will be to match or exceed the total of 787 pizzas sold a year ago.

The pizza sale will run from February 21-April 14 and those who purchase pizzas will pick them up at the business they ordered from on Saturday, May 3.  Pizza order forms are available at the First National Bank of Niagara, Forward Financial Credit Union at its Niagara, Pembine, and Iron Mountain offices, and from Fireworks committee members Gordon Behnke, Ann Dunlap, Kerry Grippen, Char Liebergen, Lisa Mattia, Lenore Neveau, and Don Novak.

Christmas Decorating 2013 Contest

The Niagara Area Business Association sponsored a city and town of Niagara Christmas decorating contest.  A panel of local judges viewing displays and awarded prizes for their favorites. In 2013, you had to register at First National Bank of Niagara or online at Niagarawi.biz.

There was no cost to participate and prizes were awarded.  In the residential category $50, and $25 in NABA Bucks which are like cash and can be spent at NABA member establishments.  The prize for the business category will be one year paid membership to the NABA.  

2013 winners were:  Commercial decoration display- Andreas’s Sweet Designs.  They won a NABA one year membership for their business.  1st place in the residential category…was Dan and Lianne Phillips who won $50 NABA Bucks.  2nd place in the residential category was Ken and Kay Johnson and they won $25 in NABA bucks.  NABA bucks can be redeemed at any NABA business and it’s like cash.

The Niagara Area Business Association sponsor Shop Niagara.  The idea is every time you patronize area Niagara businesses you can register for a chance to win quarterly prizes.  These prizes are bought by the Business Association from the Niagara businesses.  Look for the red buckets and sign up.  It’s that easy.

The 4th quarter 2013 winners are: Beverly Zollner from Iron Mountain and she won the Andrea’s Sweet Design $50 certificate.   Kris Ehlert from Pembine won the $25 certificate at Off the Wall Video.  Finally, Jean Kallenbach from Niagara winner $50 at Jim’s Restaurant.  Thanks to everyone who has been filling out the slips.  We have completed a year of Shop Niagara and are happy to continue this promotion for 2014.

Donation Presentation

NABA representatives Juli Hulce and Sherryl Weber presented a donation check to Niagara Area Citizens' Scholarship Foundation members.  The proceeds were from the Run/Walk Scavenger Hunt was held on October 5th at the Riverside Trails in Niagara.  Thanks to all sponsors and participants!

NABA Family Fun Walk Rescheduled

Originally, the NABA Family Fun Walk was scheduled for Saturday, August 24^th at Niagara Riverside Trails and it has now been moved to Saturday, October 5 @ 9AM at the same place.

“We are now making it a family scavenger hunt as well and are in the process of collecting prizes for this to make the event even more fun!” Said Trisha Peterson, President of Niagara Area Business Association.  There is a water station and first aid station available.

It is a 3 mile walk in the riverside trails across from the soccer fields in Niagara.  You can get pre-registered by downloading the form from Niagarawi.biz and you can mail it in or drop it off at any First National Bank of Niagara location.  They also have registration forms.

Adults are $10 in advance and $15 on the day of the event.  Students are $5 in advance and $10 on day of the event.  The great thing is all proceeds from sponsorship and registration will benefit the Niagara Area Citizen’s Scholarship Fund and go right back

Donation - Niagara Area Citizens Scholarship Foundation

The Niagara Area Business Association recently donated $500 to help pay for administrative costs of the Niagara Area Citizens Scholarship Foundation.  In addition, NABA is sponsoring a Run/Walk on August 24th, to support the local scholarship foundation for Niagara students.
